Having good trining equipment is very helpful for ballerinas. As you may know they can help us for many things as to gain more flexibility strength and resistance. On this image you will see my pointe shoes, some salmon colored toe pads, 3 elastics and finally some 11lb weights. I use the elastics to do some foot exercises before I get on pointe (pointe/flex). And also a tiny AB workout. As you can see, they have different intensities (light, medium and heavy). For each class, me and Ivon change the intensities. I sometimes use 11LB foot weights so that my feet can gain more strength and resistance by using a little more weight. Using them makes it more challenging because you are using even more weight than what you normally use, but after that you will see that the exercises become easier and that you gain more strength and resistance. Finally the toe pads. These are of great help because they make you feel less pain with your fingers when you stand on pointe. We are actually really lucky to have them because years ago they didn’t exist. Ballerinas feet would hurt even more. The first step into getting your pointe shoes on is to have some baby powder or foot powder. You will then put a little inside of the toes pads and rub inside it. This helps to keep your sweaty feet from slipping inside the toe pads. You may not know this but when you put your foot inside the pointe shoe, it is very fit. So by this your feet gets very sweaty. Another important thing that impacts your training in a very important way is the way you tie your shoes. Many people tend to do this the wrong way. This is important because you may hurt yourself while dancing or the ribbons can untie. In the end there are many ways to be able to use equipment.
