Energy Smoothie

I train 4-5 hours a day. I dance, I take spinning classes, I go to school, and at the end of the day I am pretty exhausted and hungry. I get home wanting to full up my stomach. But I know its not right. It’s a good idea to eat after a long day, but eat with the right type of food that will fuel you up and that are healthy for you. Its better than going to your home and eating a bunch of cookies and peanut butter. This recipe has nutrients that will help you feel energized in the instant. The smoothie includes a variety of fruits, nuts and little goodies like coco and cacao that have many effects on your body. Like macadamia nuts, they are an excellent source of energy. So without further due lets get started!

Ingredients:

  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup frozen blue berries
  • 1/3 cup mango
  • 1/4 cup strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon macadamia seeds
  • 2 or 1 tablespoons of granola
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cacao nibs

Directions:

To start, for this recipe you will need a blender or smoothie blender bullet. Grab a cutting board and begin by cutting the banana and mango into little chunks, when you end put out to the side. Then put the ice, macadamia, milk, banana, strawberries, and frozen blue berries into the blender. Blend for about 30 seconds, that way the smoothie doesn’t come out thick. After the 30 seconds stop your blender and serve the smoothie into a large glass. Start by putting the granola on top, then the chia seeds, coco, and finally the cacao. This is a nice way to end up decorating your smoothie (if you want to). Finally, grab a straw or spoon and enjoy!
